The Exumas are a chain of around 365 cays and islands with some of the most vivid water in the Bahamas. Boat tours visit Big Major Cay, home of the swimming pigs, plus nurse sharks at Compass Cay and Thunderball Grotto.

The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, founded in 1958, was the first of its kind in the Caribbean.

Tips

  • Don't feed the pigs on the beach
  • Book tours from Great Exuma or by day-trip from Nassau
